Definition:
 
1. naturally occurring elastic substance: a strong elastic material made by drying the sap from various tropical trees, especially the American rubber tree

2. elastic synthetic substance: a strong elastic synthetic substance made either by improving the qualities of natural rubber or by an industrial process using petroleum and coal products

3. dress waterproof overshoe: a waterproof overshoe worn over normal shoes to protect them in wet weather ( usually used in the plural )

4. baseball spot pitcher stands on: in baseball, the rectangle of hard rubber on the mound that the pitcher stands on to throw the ball

5. rubbing or polishing cloth: a cloth or pad used for rubbing or polishing something, especially the pad that a cabinetmaker uses to apply varnish or polish

6. device that rubs something: any machine or device that rubs a surface

7. condom: a contraceptive sheath that fits over a man's penis ( slang ) ( sometimes offensive )
