1. lake or tank for storing water: a large tank or natural or artificial lake used for collecting and storing water for human consumption or agricultural use

2. large backup supply: a substantial reserve supply of something intangible

3. liquid store in device: a part of a machine or device where liquid is stored for use by the machine or device

4. underground supply of gas or oil: a natural chamber in porous rock where a supply of natural gas or crude oil collects

5. biology parasite carrier: an organism in which a parasite lives and develops without damaging it, but from which the parasite passes to another species that is damaged by it
