noun  (plural ramps)
Definition:
 
1. sloping path or access: a sloping surface that allows access from one level to a higher or lower level, or raises something up above floor or ground level
The ship slid slowly down the ramp into the water.

2. movable stairs: a movable set of stairs used for boarding or disembarking from an aircraft

3. curved bend in handrail: a curved bend or slope in a handrail or coping where it changes direction, e.g. on a stair landing
