Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb make liquid or gas flow: to force a liquid or gas to flow

2. transitive verb make something move up and down: to move a handle, lever, or other device up and down energetically
frantically pumping the brakes

3. transitive verb ask somebody questions: to try to get information from somebody by asking questions repeatedly and forcefully

4. transitive verb U.S. make somebody excited: to make somebody excited and enthusiastic about something ( informal )
The team was really pumped for the game.

5. transitive verb medicine flush out somebody's stomach: to flush out the contents of somebody's stomach, usually to remove poison, drugs, or alcohol. A tube and a funnel are used to pour in water and allow the diluted stomach contents to run out.
