1. sports 
Same as  modern pentathlon


2. Olympic track and field contest: an athletic competition in which the contestants compete in five different track and field events and are awarded points for each to find the best all-around athlete. The events are usually sprinting, hurdling, long jumping, and discus and javelin throwing.
