Definition:
 
1. transitive verb remove outer layer: to cut away or pull off the skin or outer layer of something, especially a fruit or vegetable

2. intransitive verb have removable skin: to have a skin that can be removed

3. transitive verb pull something off: to pull or strip off something, especially something that is stuck to a surface

4. intransitive verb lose outer layer: to lose or shed an outer layer or covering, e.g. of paint or sunburned skin
The skin on her nose was peeling.

5. intransitive verb come off in thin pieces: to come off in flakes, small pieces, or thin strips
