1. something that divides space: a structure that divides a space, e.g. a wall built to make two rooms out of one

2. division of country: the division of a country into two or more separate states or countries
the partition of India

3. division into parts: the division of something into parts, or the state of being divided into parts ( formal )

4. law division of property: the division of property among interested parties to settle a dispute
