1. commitment to one group: exclusive commitment to one group, especially when detrimental to the interests or well-being of a larger group

2. self-rule principle: a policy of allowing political divisions within a state or federation to be self-governing, without regard to what effect this may have on the larger body

3. belief that God bestows grace individually: the belief that God chooses to bestow grace and salvation on some people, but not all
