Definition:
 
1. transitive verb spread rapidly and infest something: to arrive in such large numbers or spread so rapidly in a place that it becomes infested or overcrowded ( often passive )
The cathedral square was overrun with tourists.

2. transitive verb conquer enemy and territory: to attack an enemy force, defeat it conclusively, and take over the territory occupied by it
The rebels overran the government forces.

3. transitive and intransitive verb exceed limit: to continue beyond a predetermined limit, especially a time limit or fixed budget

4. transitive verb overshoot something: to go on beyond an intended stopping point such as a boundary line or the end of an airport runway

5. transitive and intransitive verb overflow: to overflow or spill over something
