Definition:
 
1. tool resembling hammer: a tool with a large usually wooden or metal head that is used for driving another tool such as a chisel or for striking or molding a material. The head of a mallet is larger than that of a hammer and usually cylindrical in shape.

2. stick used in croquet or polo: a long stick with a cylindrical head, used to hit the ball in the games of croquet and polo

3. hammer used to play percussion instrument: a small hammer often with a padded head used for playing musical instruments such as the marimba and xylophone
