1. introduction of something needed: the addition of a new or necessary quality or element to something
an infusion of private capital into the project

2. liquid made by infusing something: a liquid that is made by infusing something, e.g. tea

3. act of infusing something: the act of soaking something in a liquid in order to extract soluble matter

4. medicine administering of liquid through drip feed: the introduction of a solution such as saline, sucrose, or glucose through a drip feed in order to treat or feed a patient

5. medicine liquid administered through drip feed: a solution introduced into the body by infusion
