1. complete involvement: involvement in something that completely occupies all the time, energy, or concentration available

2. education method of language teaching: a method of language teaching that involves teachers and students using the foreign language at all times ( often used before a noun )
an immersion course

3. submersion: the placement of something into a liquid so that it is completely covered

4. christianity baptism by dipping body in water: the practice of baptism by lowering somebody's head and upper body, or sometimes the whole body, into water

5. astronomy passage of astronomical object into eclipse: the movement of an astronomical object such as the Moon into the shadow of another object, causing an eclipse
