Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb open out into space: to stretch out into space, or stretch something out into space

2. transitive verb increase size of something: to make something larger, longer, or broader in scope

3. intransitive verb occupy distance or space: to continue for a distance or occupy a space, often within a particular range
