enthuse

en·thuse [ in thz, en thz ] (past and past participle en·thused, present participle en·thus·ing, 3rd person present singular en·thus·es)

transitive and intransitive verb
Definition:

1. be or make enthusiastic: to have, or make somebody feel, great excitement or interest

2. say with enthusiasm: to express enthusiasm about something or say something enthusiastically
enthusing about the new restaurant

[Early 19th century. Back-formation <enthusiasm]

Word Usage
"You've won a prize," the caller enthuses.

Unlike such other "back-formations" (words formed by removing the last part of another word) such as diagnose, edit, and reminisce, enthuse has yet to win universal acceptance, though it has been in use since the early 1800s.
