1. suspension of liquid within another liquid: a suspension of one liquid in another, e.g. oil in water or fat in milk

2. water-based paint with mat finish: a water-based paint that usually has a mat finish. Use: interior decorating.

3. photog light-sensitive photographic coating: a thin light-sensitive coating of silver bromide or silver halide in a medium such as gelatin on a photographic plate, paper, or film
