Definition:
 
1. obscuring of astronomical object: the partial or complete hiding from view of an astronomical object, e.g. the Sun or Moon, when another astronomical object comes between it and the observer

2. loss of light: a loss or blocking of light

3. decline: a loss of status, power, or favor
