Definition:
 
1. not physically close: situated, living, or happening far away
a distant galaxy

2. remote in time: remote in time, either in the future or the past
at some time in the distant future

3. remote in relationship: remote in relationship or connection
a distant relative

4. aloofly reserved: showing that somebody does not want to be friendly or intimate

5. hard to distinguish clearly: so slight as to be hard to discern, see, or distinguish
a distant resemblance
