1. straight: straight to a place or a person, or straight in a particular direction
She went directly to the filing cabinet.
Your letter was sent directly to me.

2. with nothing in between: without any person, thing, or event intervening
I prefer to deal directly with senior management.

3. completely: in every respect
I am directly opposed to everything that they stand for.

4. clearly: in a clear and unambiguous manner
She refuses to say directly what the trouble is.

5. immediately: at once ( formal )
I'll deal with it directly.

6. regional soon: in a short while
Please take a seat, and I'll be with you directly.
