Definition:
 
1. display case: a three-dimensional representation of a scene in which objects or models are arranged in a natural setting against a realistic background, e.g. in a museum

2. miniature replica of scene: a representation of a scene that is made to appear three-dimensional, e.g. one in which the viewer looks through a hole at objects painted on layers of translucent material
