Definition:
 
1. verify something in another way: to make sure that something such as a fact or figure is correct by looking it up in other sources or asking another person

2. obstruct opponent using stick: in field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse, to obstruct an opposing player by using both hands to thrust a playing stick across his or her body
