Definition:
 
1. make somebody unable to think intelligently: to make somebody unable to think or reason clearly or act sensibly

2. make something puzzling: to make something hard or harder to understand
received additional information that only served to confuse the issue

3. mix things up: to mistake one person or thing for another

4. embarrass somebody: to make somebody feel embarrassed or ill at ease

5. throw something into disarray: to cause disorder in something
The dense fog utterly confused traffic on the highway.
