coif [ koyf, kwaaf ]

Definition:
 
1. somebody's hairstyle: the way somebody wears his or her hair ( informal )

2. type of skullcap for women: a close-fitting linen cap worn by women in the Middle Ages, now worn by some nuns under their veils

3. leather skullcap: a thick, close-fitting leather cap formerly worn under a hood of chain mail
