1. judge something: to examine something in order to judge or evaluate it

2. determine amount: to calculate a value based on various factors

3. finance calculate value for tax: to calculate the value of something in order to establish how much tax must be paid
property assessed at $300,000

4. law charge as amount: to present a demand for payment, e.g. of a fine or penalty
