Definition:
 
1. newspaper or reference piece: a piece of nonfiction writing in a newspaper, magazine, or reference book
an article on ecology

2. item: an object or item, especially one that is part of a group
articles of clothing

3. grammar word before noun: a word used with a noun that specifies whether the noun is definite or indefinite. In English the indefinite articles are "a" and "an," and the definite article is "the."

4. online newsgroup message: a message or posting to a newsgroup

5. law legal paragraph: a section of a legal document that deals with a specific point
