aggravate meaning "annoy":

Many people still dislike the use of aggravate to mean "irritate," despite a history of usage dating back to the 17th century: We were aggravated by the continuous loud noise from the street.Their bad behavior is very aggravating. Except in informal conversation, it is usually better to use another word such as annoy, exasperate, or irritate.
