Cultural Note

Much Ado About Nothing, a play (1598?) by English dramatist William Shakespeare. A comedy set in the court of the Duke of Messina in Sicily, it tells of the love of a soldier, Claudio, for the Duke's daughter, Hero, and the eventually unsuccessful attempts of Claudio's enemy, Don John, to prevent their marriage.
