Chauvinism:
Excessive nationalism and aggrandizement of one's own category or group, often accompanied by a belligerent, aggressive attitude. The word is derived from the name of a French soldier, Nicolas Chauvin, who continually talked of the achievements of Napoleon I, even after Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo in 1815.
