French and Indian War:
The French and Indian War lasted from 1754 to 1763. It was the last of four North American wars waged from 1689 to 1763 between the British and the French. Each country fought for control of the continent with the help of Native American and colonial allies. The British forces prevailed and Britain gained control of French Canada, French territory east of the Mississippi, and Spanish Florida under the Treaty of Paris of 1763.
