The Battle of Kursk took place from July 5 to August 6, 1943, between the Germans and Soviets during World War II. Involving more than 2 million men and 3,000 tanks, Kursk has been called the greatest tank battle in history. The Soviets defeated the Germans, inflicting major losses and ending the last general Nazi offensive on the Eastern Front.
